ST:  Why do you think your paper is highly cited?

This paper provides a comprehensive survey of all aspects of the face recognition problem.

ST:  Does it describe a new discovery or a new methodology that's useful to others?

It is a one stop resource for all one wants to know about face recognition.

ST:  Could you summarize the significance of your paper in layman's terms?

Face recognition is one of the biometrics used to establish the identity of a person. It will help stop bad guys from coming into the country or taking a flight.

ST:  How did you become involved in this research?

I got interested in face recognition through a dissertation written by Prof. B.S. Manjunth of U.C. Santa Barbara, who was my Ph.D. student at USC.End
