ST:  Why do you think your paper is highly cited?

It provides an up-to-date review and integration of a research field, spanning many hundreds of studies. It offers a general evaluation and conclusions about the state of knowledge.

ST:  Could you summarize the significance of your paper in layman's terms?

It provides a summary of what is known in psychology about cultural differences in social behavior.

ST:  How did you become involved in this research?

The idea for this paper was initiated by our senior author, Dr. Daphna Oyserman. All co-authors are contributors to the literature on cultural psychology. An integration and synthesis was long overdue in this research field.End
