Why do you think your paper is highly cited?

I believe it's happening because the article is related to a fresh idea to describe dynamical features by using the machinery of the fractal dimensions theory.

Could you summarize the significance of your paper in layman's terms?

To describe dynamics, especially complex dynamics, people use some common characteristics—topological and Kolmogorov-Sinai entropies, Lyapunov exponents, etc. We added a new one to this relatively short list. Now there are more tools at hand.

How did you become involved in this research?

I discussed with two young and talented scientists, Jean-Rene Chazottes and Benoit Saussol, that the possibility might exist to exploit further the quantity that I introduced in 1997. They convinced me that it was possible to do, suggested how it could be done, and we became coauthors.
