Dr. Jörg Kleeff

Dr. Jörg Kleeff, who is currently working at the European Pancreatic Cancer Centre, Heidelberg, Germany, is a top-ranking molecular scientist in our 10-year list of papers on pancreatic cancer. His most-cited paper in this field, "The TGF-beta signalling inhibitor Smad 7 enhances tumorigenicity in pancreatic cancer" (Kleeff J, et al., Oncogene, 188: 5363-72, 1999) has 109 citations in our analysis of pancreatic research over the past decade. In this interview, he talks about his work on the factors influencing cell growth in pancreatic tumors.

Dr. Charles Yeo

In our Special Topics analysis of pancreatic cancer research over the past decade, the work of Dr. Charles Yeo ranks at #2, with 97 papers cited a total of 6,176 times. Five of Dr. Yeo’s papers are also counted among the most-cited papers analysis for this topic. According to our analysis of pancreatic cancer research published in the past decade, Dr. Kern’s work ranks at #3, with 78 qualifying papers cited a total of 5,859 times to date. Five of these papers are also ranked in the list of the top 20 papers, including the #1 paper, "DPC4, a candidate tumor suppressor gene at human chromosome 18Q21.1" (Hahn SA, et al., Science 271[5247]:350-3, 19 January 1996). Dr. Kern is Professor of Oncology and Professor of Pathology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine’s Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center in East Baltimore, Maryland.
